MoneroTopia Podcast - Comments

Further to my interview on MoneroTopia in October I would like to make a correction, supply further details, and add some comments below.First apologies. It takes living in Japan five years to obtain citizenship, not one year. I considered doing so a while back when I was married, at that time for 3 1/2 years. I was encouraged to submit papers that would normally take about 6 mos to gather, so that the one year prcessing duration would work out to my getting citizenship aftetr five years of living in Japan. Please consult an immigration lawyer if you are considering citizenship.Camping:For being able to camp on your own property, yes you can do that. But of course you must provide proper sewage! I think this point would be understood without details. IMO, I think the minimum you could get away with would be at least a chemical toilet.
Or you would have to constructt a septic tank in these rural areas.
Building:Building without code, yes you can do it but with the one caveat that if you intend to sell that property, it will be difficult. This is because most Japan real estate companies will not want to handle the house. There remains two options.
First you can make a temporary house for yourself, and then tear it down after you move out, leaving just the land to sell.
Or you could sell the house property "By Owner" (without a real estate company) to anyone else willing to buy it and to whom you would disclose its no-code status (otherwise you could be legally liable). In this case you will sell it with an "as-is" sales contract, which means without warranty............
